Bread flour 25g
Water 50ml The aim is to have a 1:1 ratio of flour to water by volume.
Vegetable oil Olive oil is best for the dough mixture, but non-olive oil should be used for the frying.

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, water, and oil together in a bowl. Add extra flour if the mixture is sticky, and extra water if the mixture can't hold together as a solid object.
  2. Lightly dust a surface with flour. Use the surface to kneed the dough mixture for some time. (The longer the better but there's no hard rule.) If necessary, adjust the dough by adding water or flour.
  3. Shape the dough into a thin disc the same diameter as the pan you will be using to toast the bread. If you have a lot of dough then break it into pieces and toast each one separately.
  4. Put a little oil on the pan and then toast a piece of bread. The bread will be ready to eat once it turns a golden brown colour.
